Imagine Out Loud

Author's note: Sometimes I'll listen to a song on repeat while writing a poem or story, and thats what I did with this one. This poem's inspired by the song "Alligator Sky" by Owl City (click here to listen on youtube).  It's from a month or two back. One of my personal favorites :D enjoy...

I imagine with my eyes open
Open up your mind to the possibilities
Possibilities of open opportunities
Opportunities of pure imagination
Imagine out loud

Remember to imagine
Imagine the mountains
Mountains that rise out of the desert
Desert civilization and let yourself be free
Free of the earth that holds us down
Down from fascination

Let the rockets come to life
Life that will carry you to the moon
And back
Back to the telescopes that
Send your eyes off into space
Space filled with imagination

Fall from the sky on
The rollercoaster that will carry you
Feel the wind on your face
That will take your breath away
Away from your body and mind
Filled with captivation

Remember to breath
Cause the probabilities are endless
And you you’ll be filled
With the thrill of the clouds above
Your head will spin with imagination
Of the world beyond us

Dive in headfirst
First to the bottom of the ocean
All the way to China you will find
The world as you never knew it

Animate your mind
With the captivation of
The life we live
Live like fire burns
As bright as the stars in the sky

Remember to laugh
Cause there is so much to love
To live for
For the fruits and trees
That sprout from the ground
Like magic

Fall into the sky
Let time stop
Take a look
At the picture you see
See the life around you
Frozen

Remember to love
Cause the possibilities are endless
In a perpetual state of fascination
Accomplishments are rewarded
With boundless opportunities
You can
Imagine out loud

PS: I just remembered: I was writing this poem while driving through the middle of nowhere in California (we were on our way to a ski resort over winter break) and basically we were just surrounded by mountains and desert.
